Set up Mini 3 PIN Entry Aid

The PIN Entry AID is a feature designed to help customers with visual disabilities enter their Personal Identification Number (PIN) on the Clover Mini 3 - a compact and easy-to-use payment terminal. This feature allows customers to independently enter their PIN without requiring the assistance of a cashier. The PIN Entry AID provides audio feedback to guide customers through the process and help them confirm their input. It is a valuable accessibility feature that ensures visually impaired customers can securely and conveniently make payments on the Clover Mini 3.

Attach PIN Entry Aid

  1. Press the Accessible PIN entry button on your Mini 3 when you reach the Enter PIN screen during your transaction. 

  2. Place the PIN Entry Aid on your device. 

  3. Align the top of the shield with the top of the Mini 3’s screen so the Cancel, Clear, and Enter align with the buttons on the screen.

  4. (Optional) If at any time you want to complete the transaction without the use of the PIN Entry Aid, press the Use screen button, remove the PIN Entry Aid, and complete the transaction.

Use PIN Entry Aid

  1. Once the PIN Entry Aid is securely placed on the Mini 3, rotate the screen toward the customer and allow them to enter their PIN.

  2. The customer will hear a tone indicating their PIN was successfully submitted and they can remove their card.

  3. Rotate the Mini back toward you and remove the PIN Entry Aid.

  4. Continue through the transaction as prompted on the screens on the Mini 3.

Store PIN Entry Aid

Store the PIN Entry Aid close to your Mini 3. We encourage you to keep the PIN Entry Aid attached to your Mini’s charging cable for consistent storage and quick access. Use the attachment lanyard provided as shown in the image below.

How to Set up your Clover Mini 2nd and 3nd Generation Software?

We can now set up the software after ensuring everything is set up correctly. Start by turning on your device and selecting your preferred language. Then, let's connect your device to the network and activate it. You can connect via mobile, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet, whichever is best for you.

  • If you're using a mobile network device with a SIM card, ensure your device is connected to the mobile cellular network. 

  • If you're using an Ethernet cable, connect it to the hub and then to your modem or router. Your device will automatically connect to the internet and notify you when successfully connected. Remember to turn off any Wi-Fi networks.

  • If you're using a wireless network or Wi-Fi, tap the "Connect" button and select your network. Enter the password and follow the prompts.

Once you're connected, Clover support will email you an activation code for your device. The code will be sent to the email address you used to set up your merchant account. On the activation screen, enter the 8-digit activation code. Your device will now update the pre-installed apps on your system.
